QR code traceability links a physical part to a live, hosted record that travels with the exact serial. Scanning the code opens the current installation manual, certificate of conformity and any service notes. Unlike generic portals, the link resolves to the right item every time, even after system changes, because the URL is stable and the content is version-controlled.
How do Data Matrix and DPM work on metal and polymers?
Data Matrix is a high-density 2D code that suits cramped spaces and tough environments. With direct part marking (DPM), the code is laser-etched or dot-peened into the surface so it survives heat, oil and abrasion. Metals and many engineering polymers accept permanent marks with the right contrast and cell size. We specify minimum module size, quiet zones and placement so standard readers and smartphones can scan reliably. Where direct marking is not viable, we use stainless plates or durable labels.
